Are We REALLY Any Different?

What to expect

  1. 1 location / 1 doctor
You will see Dr. Moore at every appointment. If there is an after-hours problem, you will contact Dr. Moore directly, not an answering service. Convenient parking accommodations are right outside the office building.

  2. Examinations
We will utilize three-dimensional images and digital models to discuss all possible treatment options to allow you to make a no-pressure, educated decision for your treatment.

  3. Latest in technology
We utilize the latest three-dimensional iCAT imaging technology, which is far more detailed with even less radiation than traditional two-dimensional X-rays. Digital scans of the teeth (no impressions!) are also taken for a thorough diagnosis.

  4. Airway Assessment
Snoring, sleep-disordered breathing, sleep apnea, and other airway issues have an incredible impact on overall health. As part of the comprehensive examination, 3-dimensional imaging of the nasal and oropharyngeal airways are evaluated as well.

  5. Placement of braces
If you choose braces, Dr. Moore places EVERY bracket (braces) himself. That is extremely important as this determines where the teeth are placed in your smile!

  6. Type of braces
All braces (clear or metal) are the latest self-ligating technology that uses ½ the force of traditional braces and does not require the traditional “tightening.” This is very important. It saves you (or your child) discomfort, and they do not need adjustments as often, which saves you time away from work or school.

  7. Retainers
Retainers are very important to maintain that beautiful smile. Dr. Moore will discuss traditional, clear, or permanent retainers for your best option.

  8. You are family
Starting with the very first phone call to our office, you are part of our orthodontic family. Employees will know who you are by name for your appointments.

What not to expect

  1. Multiple locations / multiple doctors
You may see a different doctor on every visit with the possibility of different philosophies (ideas) and treatment.
You may have to drive to a different location (office) if there is an issue or a certain type of appointment.
After-hour issues are usually answered by an answering service employee.
Not all orthodontic offices have convenient parking accommodations, which may lead to an issue for a timely appointment.

  2. Examinations
Although they may be complimentary, they are usually quickly diagnosed based solely on this initial exam. “Same-day braces” is sold as a convenience but is really just a rushed “sell.”

  3. Outdated technology
Traditional two-dimensional X-rays are more often used (definitely less thorough but with more radiation).

  4. Airway Assessment
Not possible with 2-dimensional imaging and does not fit in the high-volume orthodontic office scheduling.

  5. Placement of braces
Assistants often place brackets (braces) on the teeth, and the doctor might take a look for a quick check.

  6. Type of braces
Traditional braces (metal or clear). If they are not “self-ligating,” then they do require “tightening” and more frequent adjustment appointments. That means more discomfort and time away from work or school.

  7. Retainers
Options of retainers may not be discussed, and permanent retainers may not be an option.

  8. Who are you?
Are you a number or just a person? Talking with someone over the phone and/or at your appointment, the employees may not even know your name and forget knowing something about you.
